This morning the world
Was so large
The bed consumed, stretched for miles

Swallowed up by the sheets
I could hear the cats calling me
Through fog and blankets.

A muffled reassurance
Life was out there.
It was waiting for me to take a breath.

Waiting for me to hold steady.
Under the light of my false sun,
In the grip of fate
