This isn’t a time for resolutions
Instead settle my mind into the big city full of sad and wet faces

I can tell the moaning next door is from pain.
I can hear him through the wall, the voice comes to my bathroom without invitation.
I am aware, everyone’s great needs escalate in the cold.
I am aware, help comes to me in slow waves.
Someone was planning a trip to Oz today and they thanked me for the gift with such kindness

Half a paneer, a steaming cafe americano and a handful of Sacajawea’s; yet how many more nights of hunger and cold?
