It is said that in morning
before the earth warms
and the birds spread their wings–
you can hear a silence
that is the echo of silence
preparing everything
for another phase.

That is life–
a long stillness
encompassing memory,
cycles and brilliance,
just by having a name
to call itself.
To have a note to follow
while sharing tea while
giving in to complete loss,
heedless directives and
grey consciousness.
Strangers help to navigate
a boat meant for one.
The curtains open:
Dawn can have this last request
Night can have this heart ’till death

It is said that in the evening
before the earth cools
and the cat finds it’s prey–
you can hear a silence
that is the echo of silence–
that isn’t man, plant nor wild
that comes not from
sea, land nor air.
