About my blog

Cat Over Clock:
Some things are more important than time ... cats are one of them. Welcome to a world of photographed shadows--I invite you to a study of compassion through poetry. It is with gratitude that you might take it with you.

Novel by MJ Bell
This is the new backyard experience since the neighbors cut down their Tree of Heaven or Ailanthus. It’s felt weird and lonely without them towering. Less roosting for crows and other birds. I realize we have invasive species and that trees do damage to properties and fences—this we have to be responsible about what we let grow in our spaces so that people down the road don’t have to cut down huge trees. It’s heartbreaking regardless of if someone has judged the reason good enough. This is the second neighbor in a year that’s made this decision. Save the trees. Waste less. Plant responsibly. 🌲 🌲 plant plant plant!

No one but Night, with tears on her dark face,
Watches beside me in this windy place.
